The Black Presence In Canada

An unidentified black woman, [ca. 1890].
(Archives of Ontario, F2076-16-4-7)
I came across the Archives of Ontario website while looking for vintage images of people of African decent. Much to my surprise and delight, there is a wealth of images like the one to the left on the site.Other resources relating to the Black presence in Canada include online exhibits and a Lesson Resource Kit about Black Canadian Migration Experiences.
